Kurt Hoelting
Kurt is a guide uniquely qualified to lead us on this multifaceted journey. A commercial fisherman in southeast Alaska for 35 years, he is intimately acquainted with the terrain. As Director of Inside Passages, Kurt has led dozens of sea kayaking expeditions in Alaska. A student of Zen meditation for three decades, he has taught meditation in a variety of settings, to clergy and rabbis, environmental activists, health care professionals and vets at the VA Hospital in Seattle.
Emi Morgan
Emi is has an MBA in Sustainable Business from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute and is espically interested in small business and community development. Emi graduated with a BA in Environmental Education from Huxley College in 2002. She then worked as a kayak guide in the San Juan Islands and Costa Rica, as well as traveling throughout Latin America. When not guiding, she works for the Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve on Whidbey Island.
During the summer of 2006 Emi worked in Alaska as Rations Manager for the National Outdoor Leadership School, and will be joining us as Assistant Guide and Cook on Trip One this summer. She brings skill, knowledge and enthusiasm to her work, and we look forward to having her on the team.
